BREAD ROLLS WITH STRETCHY CHEESE FILLING

Giới thiệu

Bread rolls with stretchy cheese filling are a delightful and comforting treat that combines soft, freshly baked bread with a gooey, melted cheese center. The rolls are made from a rich dough that is soft and fluffy, perfect for encasing a generous amount of cheese. When baked, the cheese melts and stretches, creating a deliciously cheesy surprise inside each roll. This dish is ideal as an appetizer, snack, or even as a side for soups and salads. The combination of warm, pillowy bread and gooey cheese makes these rolls incredibly satisfying and perfect for sharing with family and friends. They can be enjoyed fresh out of the oven or reheated for a tasty, comforting snack.

Do you know:
1. Bread roll: Bread roll is a type of bread, typically small and round, with a soft interior and a slightly crisp crust. It provides a source of carbohydrates, which offer energy for daily activities. Bread rolls can be made with various types of flour, adding nutrients such as B vitamins and minerals depending on the type used. Whole grain or multigrain rolls offer additional fiber, which supports digestive health and helps maintain a healthy weight. Bread rolls are versatile and can be used for sandwiches, served with soups or stews, or enjoyed on their own.

2. Pizza mozzarella: Pizza mozzarella is a mild, creamy cheese made from cow's milk. It has a high moisture content and melts beautifully, making it a staple for pizzas and other baked dishes. Mozzarella provides a good source of protein, calcium, and vitamins such as vitamin B12, which is important for red blood cell production and nerve health. Its relatively low fat content compared to other cheeses makes it a popular choice for adding a creamy texture without overwhelming richness. Mozzarella adds a deliciously gooey and flavorful element to dishes when melted.

3. Olive oil with oregano: Extra virgin olive oil with oregano combines the rich, fruity flavor of high-quality olive oil with the aromatic, herbal notes of oregano. Olive oil is known for its heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and antioxidants, which can help reduce inflammation and support cardiovascular health. Oregano adds a fragrant, slightly peppery taste and contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. This combination enhances the flavor of dishes while providing additional health benefits. It can be used as a finishing oil for salads, pasta, or bread, or as a base for marinades and dressings.

Weightwatchers (Opt for losing weight):
To make Bread Rolls with Stretchy Cheese Filling more weight-loss-friendly, use a higher proportion of whole wheat flour to increase fiber and reduce the glycemic index. Substitute low-fat or plant-based milk for fresh milk to cut calories. Opt for lower-fat mozzarella or use less cheese to lower calorie density while still enjoying the cheesy flavor. Reduce the amount of extra virgin olive oil in both the dough and topping, or use a light olive oil spray. Choose a low-sugar tomato sauce to limit added sugars. Adjust the amount of yeast based on desired dough texture without impacting the overall healthiness of the rolls.
Nguyên liệu
Ingredients for the Bread Roll Dough:
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 500g whole wheat flour
  • 510g fresh milk
  • 200g water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 10g fresh yeast or 8g dry yeast
For the Topping and Filling:
  • 400g pizza mozzarella (Italian fresh mozzarella is very wet, but pizza mozzarella is drier. You can also use another cheese that doesn't stretch like mozzarella but is still flavorful and easy to find in supermarkets.)
  • Tomato sauce + a pinch of salt + extra virgin olive oil + oregano
Cách làm
  • Combine all the ingredients for the bread dough (EXCEPT YEAST; add the yeast last) in a bowl and mix. Knead well for 10 minutes.
  • Add the yeast and knead for another 5 minutes. The dough will be quite sticky as shown in the video.
  • Cover the dough and let it rest until it doubles or triples in size.
  • Punch down the dough.
  • Roll out the dough to about 5mm thick. Place a mozzarella stick about the width of your finger and the length of the dough. Use a knife or pasta cutter to cut the dough into long strips as shown in the video. Roll up the dough and tuck the edges to prevent it from opening.
  • Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let the dough rest until it rises about 70%. Bake in the oven at the maximum temperature. After 7 minutes, reduce the temperature to 200°C (390°F). Bake until golden brown.
  • Prepare the brush topping: finely chop garlic and parsley, and mix with olive oil.
  • When the bread is still warm, brush the garlic oil mixture over the top.
  • Serve warm so the cheese stays melted and stretchy. If made in advance, reheat the bread in the oven before serving to melt the cheese again. :)
  • Good luck!
