Eat in moderation and only once in a while! 😜 Every time I host friends, I always go for this recipe because it never fails—everyone loves it. The cake is velvety, almost like cream, and absolutely irresistible. And with a layer of Nutella (Italy’s ultimate chocolate spread) on top, how could anyone not fall in love? Hic. Fudge cake is a decadent and indulgent dessert that celebrates the deep, rich flavors of chocolate in every bite. This dense and moist cake is made with high-quality cocoa or melted chocolate, giving it an intense chocolatey taste and a smooth, velvety texture. Unlike traditional chocolate cakes, fudge cake is often richer, with a slightly gooey center or a dense crumb that melts in your mouth. Weightwatchers (Opt for losing weight):
This Fudge Cake recipe is already indulgent and rich, but if you're looking to lighten it up, you could substitute Greek yogurt for the regular yogurt to add protein while reducing sugar content. Instead of using Nutella for the frosting, you can make a lower-sugar homemade version with dark chocolate and a bit of honey or maple syrup. If you'd like a more balanced texture, replacing part of the flour with almond flour can enhance the cake’s moisture while reducing refined carbs.

  • 227 g butter at room temperature
  • 43 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 227 g hot water
  • 241 g flour
  • 340 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 113 g yogurt (regular, sweetened, not Greek yogurt)
  • 2 eggs
  • Vanilla extract

For the frosting:
I use Nutella for convenience—delicious and hassle-free!
If you prefer homemade or can’t find Nutella, you can make the frosting with:
  • 113 g butter
  • 21 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 85 g yogurt (same type as in the cake)
  • 454 g sugar
Cách làm
  • Dissolve cocoa powder in hot water and stir well. Add melted butter and mix thoroughly.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  • Add the cocoa mixture, eggs, yogurt, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Pour into a lined baking pan.
  • Preheat the oven to 185°C. Bake for about 25–35 minutes. Insert a toothpick—if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
  • Let the cake cool completely.

Make the chocolate mixture:
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan—just enough to liquefy it.
  • Add yogurt and cocoa powder, stirring constantly. Once the mixture starts to boil, turn off the heat.
  • Keep stirring and add the sugar, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour the warm mixture over the cake while it’s still slightly warm.
  • Done! :)
