HOW TO MAKE SHAKEN APPLE (INSTEAD OF SHAKEN MANGO)

HOW TO MAKE SHAKEN APPLE (INSTEAD OF SHAKEN MANGO)

Giới thiệu

A SIMPLE VIETNAMESE SNACK, but different.  😜
These days, even mangoes and apples are getting "shaken" like people, right? Haha!!
I'm really into mango with fish sauce and sugar, but I can't find the same sour green mango here as in Vietnam. So, I use super sour green apples as a substitute.

Do you know:
1. Green apples: Green sour apples offer a unique tartness and are a good source of dietary fiber, which aids in digestion and helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels. They are rich in vitamin C, which supports immune function and skin health. Green apples also contain antioxidants such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which can help reduce oxidative stress and lower the risk of chronic diseases. The tart flavor of green apples adds a refreshing contrast to both sweet and savory dishes, and their crisp texture enhances salads and other recipes.

2. Chili: Dried or chopped chili peppers are known for their intense heat and rich flavor. They contain capsaicin, the compound responsible for their spiciness, which has been shown to boost metabolism and support weight loss. Capsaicin also has anti-inflammatory properties and may help relieve pain. Dried chilies retain most of their nutritional value, including vitamins A and C, which support immune health and vision. They also contribute antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress. The heat and depth of flavor from dried or chopped chilies enhance a variety of dishes, from stews to sauces.

Nguyên liệu
  • Green apples
  • Fish sauce
  • Sugar
  • Fresh chopped chili or dried chili (both work)

Cách làm
  • Cut the green apples into bite-sized pieces.
  • Put them in a container with a lid (to make shaking quick and easy!).
  • Add a bit of fish sauce.
  • Add plenty of sugar
  • Add chili.
  • Close the lid, and shake!
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the apples to absorb the flavors.
  • And then, turn on the TV, and enjoy your snack while watching a movie! What movies or shows do you like? As for me, I'm super into detective series—shows like CSI or Cold Case are ones I can watch over and over without getting bored!
